Laboratory Soils/Materials Technician - Geotechnical Soils and Materials Testing Laboratory

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have knowledge regarding the standard test methods for laboratory testing performed by a soils and materials testing laboratory (ASTM, CTM, AASHTO). Duties include performing laboratory tests, maintaining proper and complete laboratory data, and calculation of laboratory test results. Laboratory test methods include, but are not limited to, maximum soils density, sieve analysis, sand equivalent, hydrometer, soil corrosivity, R-value, Hveem unit weight and stability, asphalt extraction and percent asphalt, concrete, grout, and mortar compressive strength, concrete flexural strength, steel coupon and rebar tensile strength, high strength bolt tensile strength and hardness.

Education:

The ideal candidate will have soil, concrete, asphalt, and steel testing experience. Professional registrations or laboratory certifications and a minimum 2 years experience preferred.

Required Skills:

Candidate should have excellent mathematical, verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Must have a current valid driver's license.
