Asbestos, Lead, and Industrial Hygiene Professional

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Asbestos Consultant. Duties includes conducting asbestos, lead based paint, and microbial surveys and assessments, conducting indoor air quality surveys or other industrial hygiene assessment, preparing abatement specifications and operations and maintenance plans, and providing abatement monitoring/oversight/clearance sampling. This is a part to full-time position, dependant on workload.

Education:

At a minimum, the ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree, or equivalent.

Required Skills:

This is a staff to senior staff level position for an individual with California certifications and experience performing and overseeing asbestos, lead-based paint, microbiological and hazardous building-material surveys and abatement inspections. A candidate must possess a State of California Site Surveillance Technician certification and Lead Inspector/Assessor registration. Candidates that are Certified Asbestos Consultants or Lead Project Monitors are encouraged to apply. Individuals with California asbestos and lead experience/certifications and industrial hygiene experience are preferred. Experience with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments is a plus, but is not required. The candidate should have one to three years experience conducting relevant projects, possess computer skills (e.g., Word & Excel), have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be team oriented, be a self starter and energetic.
