AWS/CWI Welding Inspector / Materials Testing Technician

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standards related to the construction and inspection of structural steel welding and bolting. Candidate will also be familiar with test methods for all tests performed by a construction field technician and perform these tests. Field duties include inspection of structural steel welds and bolting. Also observation and compaction testing on soil, aggregate base and asphalt concrete; observation and inspection of reinforcing steel in concrete and masonry construction and obtaining samples of soil, aggregate base, asphalt, mortar, grout and cement concrete. Duties also include maintaining of proper and complete files of field and laboratory data, reports, letters, and other pertinent field data, maintain clear communications with the Project Manager regarding all aspects of the field work including providing of neat and orderly project documentation.

Education:

Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have welding, soil, masonry, asphalt concrete, and cement concrete inspection and testing field experience. AWS/CWI, ICC, ACI and nuclear gauge certifications are required.

Required Skills:

Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a minimum of 5 years experience working in the materials testing industry, a positive attitude, good organizational skills and a strong work ethic. Must have a current valid driver's license and good driving record. Must also be able to pass a background check and drug screen test.
