Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be required to be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the ASTM, AASHTO, MAG, and local standard test methods for tests performed by a construction materials lab and materials testing technicians. Candidate experienced should include but not be limited to performing tests on soil, concrete, concrete aggregates and asphalt.

Duties also includes managing existing laboratory staff, continued implementation of existing quality control procedures, maintaining and obtaining new laboratory certifications and maintenance and purchase of equipment. Lab Manager will be responsible for budget control, work flow and clear communications with the Project Managers regarding all aspects of the laboratory operations including providing accurate and orderly test results.

Education:

B.S./M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering.

Required Skills:

Registered Geotechnical Engineer in California with ten years plus experience with a geotechnical consulting firm performing duties described above. Candidate should have a thorough understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering. The successful candidate should have working experience with construction and earthwork activities. Candidate should have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and excellent problem solving skills.
