Hydrogeologic Studies

Evaluation of the groundwater regime in the subsurface geologic environment can be a significant aspect of the planning, design, development or construction of a project. Ninyo & Moore provides hydrogeologic studies to assist private developers, public agencies, contractors, and engineering firms.

Our hydrogeologic studies include:

  • Evaluation of depths to groundwater, groundwater transport and flow rates
  • Installation of monitoring wells and piezometers, and pore pressure measurements
  • Aquifer drawdown pump testing and evaluation of hydraulic conductivity, storage capacity and transmissivity
  • Groundwater resource potential studies
  • Construction dewatering
  • Mitigation of groundwater hazards

Former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin

Ninyo & Moore conducted step and constant rate drawdown tests within the shallow and deep aquifers of two areas of Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin, California. The pumping wells and a network of over 30 piezometers were monitored for drawdown before during and after the pumping tests using manual electric water level indicators and programmable down-well pressure transducers. The wells were...
